How to submit content to us
While we do accept completed original articles for review, we recommend
drafting a three or four paragraph sample of the content you wish to
write about. This way we can get a good overview of your style and
abilities, and you won't have to write a complete article only to be
denied publication. We don't want to see you work any more than you
have to when it's really not necessary. Make sure to convey the overall
theme of the article as well as any other info you think would be
necessary for us to approve the work.
It would also be beneficial to include links to any existing content
you've published on the Internet so that we can take a look at your
'portfolio'. If you don't have any published work, that's OK too. This
is a good place to get your feet wet. A good portfolio of work or lack
thereof will not qualify or disqualify your writing opportunity here.
We are looking for quality not quantity.
All submissions should be in SXW, RTF, or DOC format, and emailed to this address: submissions@madpenguin.org
Please include your name, age, address, and a short bio with the
submission. We will review your work and will contact you within one
week of submission informing you of your acceptance or denial. We also strongly encourage you to read our Authoring Guidelines (PDF) before submitting any content. It is very important that you follow this outline to the letter. Please do not send articles to us without first referring to the guidelines as a reference. If your submission does not meet these basic requirements it will not be accepted.

All of the fine print
Every article that is submitted for publication on Mad Penguin must be
original (written by you and not previously published). If you are quoting any other source, you need to be very
specific and name your source (including URL, email, or print information if applicable). By submitting content for publication,
you are agreeing that we will be the exclusive owner for 30 days from
the date of article publication, after which a Creative Commons
Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs License (view) will be applied to
the work. What this means is that anyone is free to link to (or
reprint) the work as long as credit is given to you and the license
accompanies it. This protects your work from being taken, edited, and
credited to someone else (trust us, it happens).
Payments will be made in the form of check, money order, or via PayPal
online payment system. We prefer PayPal due to it's simplicity, speed,
and tracking capabilities. Payments by check or money order will be
mailed out no later than 7 working days after publication. Electronic
payments will be made no later than 2 working days after publication.
And in closing...
We are always looking for permanent staff writers who have the desire to
consistently generate quality content. This is an excellent way to
ensure that you'll not only have a fairly steady cash flow coming in
